The 2023 Mock Voter Guide
The Fort Collins Mock Voter Guide was created by a passionate multi-partisan coalition of residents to request that the City consider mailing a comprehensive Voter Guide to all active voters starting in 2025. With the advent of Ranked Choice Voting, we anticipate the need for increased voter outreach and education to empower our neighbors to make the most of their ballot.
We gathered voter guides from all around the country where Ranked Choice Voting is being used and pulled from the best of those to create a Mock Voter Guide for the November 2023 election. We view the Fort Collins Voter Guide as a critical step towards a more informed and engaged electorate, and we are hopeful that the Fort Collins City Council shares our vision and sees the immense value this guide can bring to our community.
This mock voter guide was created entirely by citizens for the purpose of helping to advocate for an official voter guide provided by the City of Fort Collins. While diligently researched using primary sources for the November 2023 election, this mock voter guide is not an official publication of the City and may contain errors, as such: do your own research, fact checking, and due diligence before voting.
My husband and I moved to Fort Collins in 2013. Prior to moving here, I had worked as an election judge, an election supervisor and an election assistant in 3 states over a 10 year period. Based on that experience and my deep interest in the election process, in January 2017, I co-founded Represent Fort Collins in order to bring transparency and accountability to our local elections. I am also part of a volunteer team of residents that audits candidate campaign finance reports each election season. And I am proud to have co-managed the winning Ranked Choice Voting campaign.
I am a father, a CSU graduate, and an award-winning serial entrepreneur. I've been honored with titles like BizWest’s 40 Under Forty in 2016, the Colorado Association of Libraries’ Library Community Partnership Award in 2018, and ColoradoBiz’s GenXYZ Top 25 Most Influential Young Professionals in Colorado in 2020. In 2021, I ran for Fort Collins City Council in District 1 and narrowly lost by 33 votes. My current initiatives aim to empower neighbors to become more involved in local politics. I've also volunteered in marketing for the RCV for Fort Collins campaign and currently host the Dear Fort Collins podcast, where I spotlight candidates and experts from around the City.

I am a father of two, CSU class of '06, leader of an award-winning big data software team for the past 13 years at Hewlett Packard Enterprise. I ran for the Colorado House of Representatives in 2014 (and lost). I assisted two campaigns for Fort Collins City Council in varying capacities, gave a talk on running for office at Ignite Fort Collins, served on the Executive Board of the LCRP, and now serve as Chairman of the Platform Committee of the Colorado Center Party. I'm happy to be focused more on backstage work related to policy development and voter information efforts, as it better suits my professional background and my zest for more convivial, collaborative debate.

Since 2019, I've felt like more of a bench player — ready to work if called to action. After years of doing the teaching, researching and designing learning experiences I finally and truly understand my role. If everything I say and do is steeped in love, THEN I know I've done my very best.
